About me

I am a photographer, a photography teacher and a maker of experiences. Venezuelan, based in Miami since August 2016.

This was not the plan. I studied computer engineering, did an MBA and a master's in project management, and for years I took it for granted that I would stay in that world. Until, on a trip, I walked into a MediaMarkt in Arnhem, in the Netherlands, and walked out with a camera. That is where engineering started turning into photography.

The trips came later. I travelled and posted photos and videos on Instagram, and the comments always said the same thing: that they wished they could have come along, that why did I not teach them while travelling. In January 2021 I took the first group to St. Augustine, and there were six of us.

Since that first trip 54 photographers have come, and diecisiete have wanted to come again. Nothing tells me better that this works.

I have been back to Utah cinco times, and I would go back another cinco. A place like that is not learned in one pass: it is learned by going back, and every return teaches you something you did not see the time before.

Watching how the people on my trips got along, I learned something I did not expect: photography is better in company. It is more fun, and it also pays better. You come home with better photos and with people who send work your way.

That is where Aprende ↗was born, the first photography community in Spanish. A place to learn photography and also the business of living from it: making friends in the trade, sending each other work, and not having to figure it all out alone.

And this does not end here. More ideas will keep coming, and this is going to be my place to tell you what is on my mind.

In April 2027 we are going to the Netherlands, the country where I bought that camera. And the profit from the prints goes to helping Venezuela.
